At KORE, we are proud to leverage nearly two decades of IoT experience to help organisations deploy IoT solutions that have a positive and profound impact in the communities where we work and live. From helping healthcare providers remotely monitor chronic conditions of patients and check on at-home seniors, to enabling schools to improve school bus and student safety, our work in IoT has a personal significance that reaches far beyond IoT business applications.
KORE believes we can do much more to extend our contribution from communities close to home to people and places around the world. We believe that as a successful global company, it is our duty and responsibility to give back and make the world a better place now and for generations to come. With these intentions in mind, KORE has committed our support to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The United Nations defines sustainable development as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The three core elements of this development are economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection.
Established in 2015 by leaders from 193 countries, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 goals to be reached by 2030 with aims ranging from ridding the world of poverty and hunger, to minimizing the major effects of climate change, to making quality education available to all.
The United Nations’ goal is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all. When people are in good health, societies prosper. While much has been done to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases in recent years, real progress will only be possible when everyone, including women and children, have access to good health care, including safe, effective vaccines and medicines.
The United Nations’ goal is to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation. For a society to grow, it should encourage industries that bring opportunities to everyone, while protecting the environment. The technologies that allow us to be more connected are integral to this. But there is still a digital divide we must bridge for so many in developing countries. Investments in innovation and infrastructure will make this sustainable development possible.
